Mr. John Bull greets! A distinguished muscle car from the British island.
The design of this Aston Martin was inspired by the power-trend from the USA.
Especially the DBS model looks still fresh for today.
The others are copying themselves again (which is not bad), but Aston Martin has now found a very own style. Lord Sinclair drove DBS, and the same Roger Moore, with his inimitable, smug irony as James Bond prefers, of course, again this Aston Martin.

The V8 was built for twenty years, from 1978 also again as a convertible, at least so Prince Charles in Ascot was better to be seen - for as an avowed roadster savorer he had also a V8 “Volante” (borrowed from the Italian “airy, light, flying”) after a DB6 convertible.

The Aston was and is considered as the gentleman's sports car par excellence.
It always plays along with the fact that the gentleman can also mutate to a ruffian - forthwith - if it had to be.
This is exactly what an Aston Martin expresses.
The convertible top is elaborately worked, according to the British Drophead Coupé tradition.
Open a revelation, closed a "saloon".

Experiences and Impressions of the DBS V8 Volante soft top installation

After all the experience with such vehicles, construction, age and condition, a renewal of the convertible top will cost more than the actual convertible top.
Headliner, padding, soft top, linkage, wooden parts, possibly blasting and powdering/varnishing of the linkage, all together with dismantling and reassembling, smaller and perhaps somewhat larger necessary repairs... .
Particularly vulnerable are the wooden parts at the tail-end of the body as well as the main bow. At least they must normally be repaired complicatedly.
